Sedex Global SMETA
Sedex Global is one of the world's largest collaborative data sharing platforms for responsible sourcing, used by over 50,000 members in over 150 countries.

This organization provides a standardization of the companies audit criteria, identifing the guidelines to conduct audits in full compliance with ethical and social rules and provides the best practices to use during audits.

UNOAERRE, both manufacturer and supplier, use the SMETA PILLAR 4 protocol as the basis of internal audits. Smeta Pillar 4 is based on 4 pillars: working conditions, health and safety, work environment, business practices.

The use of SMETA audit allows to have a clear communication between customers and suppliers, reduces ethical risk and improves social performance along the supply chain.
Accredia
UNOAERRE internal chemical laboratory has been accredited to standard ISO/IEC 17025:2018 by the Italian accreditation ACCREDIA with certificate N. 1526L. The accreditation concerns the execution of gold and silver fineness analysis, according to international standards.

In Italy there are only 4 private Accredia certified laboratories for gold and silver. This gives to UNOAERRE a pioneering role in terms of accreditation of its internal analysis procedures used to guarantee the gold fineness.

Our responsible Gold sourcing
In order to guarantee a responsible supply and to demonstrate the legitimate origin of precious metals, our suppliers are required to join the RJC and to have their own operations certified LBMA. Moreover we give the priority to those who provide the greatest responsible gold sourcing practices.
The decision to employ globally certified suppliers that work on recovering metal from waste and operating in a responsible way, is in itself a demonstration of a truly sustainability-oriented corporate culture.
We can even call some products as "ethical gold": gold that comes from supply sources qualified as "responsible", which respect good environmental practices and cover human rights, ethical, social and environmental performance.

UNOAERRE tests the fineness of the precious metals received from suppliers: all the precious metals are supplied with a declaration of origin, certifing sources of the metal. Sources must come from LBMA certified companies (London Bullion Market Ass.), RJC (Responsible Jewelery Council) or other companies that apply the OECD guidelines (responsible gold). In the absence of such certifications, the declaration of origin of gold must be present by the transferor.

Moreover UNOAERRE adds a systematic check of the fineness and identification marks for all the metal suppliers that takes place in our internal laboratory.

Diamonds
Our diamonds come from legitimate sources not involved in the financing of conflicts and in compliance with United Nations resolutions. Natural diamond suppliers are required to comply with the World Diamond Council guarantee system (Kimberley Process for rough stones) and to certify that they do not sell synthetic diamonds.

Products
In addition to the use of precious and non-precious metals from a certified supply chain and recycling sources (control of incoming metals, recovery, refining) UNOAERRE systematically verifies the conformity of the product to the most restrictive European (ReaCH) and international standards on the absence of not allowed or allergen substances.
